ZoOm showcased it’s mobile physical access management capabilities at CES 2018 in a comprehensive self driving-car experience with IAV Automotive Engineering. ZoOm prevented unauthorized access, yet allowed authorized drivers to enter the car instantly, while automatically personalizing environment settings, allowing in-car purchases and giving access to advanced vehicle diagnostics.

Drivers enrolled into IAV’s app with ZoOm, capturing and encrypting the authorized user’s face image, verifying its three-dimensionality, and verifying over 20 liveness traits which were then used to create a user’s biometric “facemap”. The entire enrollment process was completed in only about 20 seconds. When the authorized driver accessed the vehicle, they used ZoOm to authenticate themselves on their smartphone, a process that takes only 1-2 seconds. ZoOm accurately compared the human the user’s mobile camera saw to the facemap of the authorized user. Once successfully matched, the car automatically unlocked and granted access.
