Las Vegas Injury Attorneys, Henness and Haight, collect donations for the Toys for Tots foundation for the sixth year in a row and match all donations made by employees.

Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) December 09, 2013

Las Vegas Injury Attorneys, Henness and Haight, hold their sixth annual donation drive for "Toys for Tots," a not-for-profit charity administered by the Marine Corp that collects and distributes toys for needy children across the country.

"Toys for Tots" relies on local businesses to help collect toys, and Mark Henness and Michael Haight have always been excited to help members of the community in need. Michael Haight explains, "What a wonderful charity. It’s easy to get excited about the idea of putting smiles on the faces of needy children who would otherwise go without. We've been working with Toys for Tots now for six years, and the generosity and compassion of our staff continues to exceed my expectations. Every year since we started, we’ve been able to donate more toys for needy children than we did the year before. Hopefully, this year we are able to continue that trend.”

H&H partners with the Nevada Justice Association to gather toys to help children that are less fortunate. Not only do Henness and Haight help collect toys, they also match every donation, toy for toy, that their employees make to the cause. And those donations have grown every year. Last year they were able to collect over 100 toys for the foundation. The deadline for donations this year was December 9th, but they're continuing to collect toys until December 16th to further their efforts.

The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is directed by the Commander, Marine Forces Reserve, with the assistance of his staff, from the Marine Forces Reserve Headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Foundation provides the funding and support needed for successful annual toy collection and distribution campaigns. Local campaigns are conducted annually in over 700 communities covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Members of the community drop new, unwrapped toys in collection boxes positioned in local businesses. Coordinators pick up these toys and store them in central warehouses where the toys are sorted by age and gender.

At Christmas, coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the less fortunate children of the community. Over the years, Marines have established close working relationships with social welfare agencies, churches and other local community agencies that are well qualified to identify the needy children in the community and play important roles in the distribution of the toys. According to their website, "Local business leaders play key roles [in collecting donations]."

Anyone in Las Vegas who is interested in donating toys to the foundation can drop them off at the offices of Henness and Haight at 8972 Spanish Ridge Ave Suite 100 by December 16th. Reported by PRWeb 3 days ago.
