TMC selects Broad-Connect Telecom as a top innovator on the ITEXPO Las Vegas show floor.
Amherst, NY (PRWEB) September 13, 2013
Broad-Connect Telecom today announced that its Lync TVA Server was selected as a winner of the Best of Show Award for Large Enterprise Solution at ITEXPO, held August 27-29, 2013, at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Winners of the prestigious Best of Show Award program are reserved for products or services that demonstrate raw creativity and technological innovation.
The Lync TVA Server facilitates the use of the Citel Portico TVA with Microsoft Lync. With this set-up, digital and P-phone handsets can continue to be used over existing Category 3 cabling when migrating to Microsoft Lync. Until this product introduction, only analog phones and soft phones could be used with Microsoft Lync. Now, governments, educational institutions and any business moving to Lync can now use their existing telephone infrastructure for the telephony part of the move.
“Citel had worked with several companies to facilitate the use of legacy handsets with first Microsoft OCS and then Lync, but due to issues with those partners had not been successful in completing the process,” said Ravi Prasher, VP, Sales for Broad-Connect. “We’ve developed a proprietary server that completes the process which now enables all entities to take complete advantage of the telecommunication capability components of Microsoft Lync. In the past, a business wasn’t able to cost effectively implement the service without exclusively switching over to soft phones or paying the upfront capital expenditure of adapting to IP phones.”
“TMC evaluated a broad range of Best of Show nominations at ITEXPO Las Vegas, and the quality and innovation demonstrated by all applicants was outstanding,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC CEO and conference chairman. “Broad-Connect Telecom presented a standout solution, and we’re pleased to award them as a Best of Show winner.”
