The Las Vegas personal injury law firm of Benson, Bertoldo, Baker & Carter is proud to announce their sponsorship of local triathlete Jason Gradyan at the Kona Ironman in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii on October 11, 2014.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 06, 2014
Benson, Bertoldo, Baker & Carter, a highly respected personal injury law firm in Las Vegas, will be sponsoring Jason Gradyan, a local school teacher turned Ironman participant. Despite incredible odds, Gradyan has qualified for the Kona Ironman this October.
Kona is no ordinary triathlon and Gradyan is no ordinary man. Twelve years ago, while hiking in Red Rock Canyon, Gradyan fell 40 feet when the ledge he was walking on collapsed. As a result of the fall, days before his scheduled graduation from UNLV, Gradyan sustained a broken back. Although he was told he may never walk again, Gradyan refused to accept that prognosis as a possibility. Instead, he remained positive and determined. Gradyan eventually regained control of his left leg and partial movement of his right leg. Incredibly, three months after his fall, Gradyan was able to walk out of rehabilitation. Gradyan remains active and has competed in triathlons, marathons and swimming events, culminating in the opportunity to compete at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, arguably the most prestigious race of its kind.
Robert Cardenas, an attorney at Benson, Bertoldo, Baker and Carter, having read about Gradyan’s story through a social media link, was so moved by his example that he requested to meet him. “Jason’s story is incredibly inspirational and we are so honored to sponsor and support him.” Brett Carter, partner at the firm, expressed pride in supporting someone he finds truly inspirational and whose story exudes such perseverance. “Jason Gradyan’s story personifies what we preach to our clients and hope for them, as well: overcoming adversity and facing difficulty with courage,” Carter said.
Gradyan is currently a PE teacher and loves to teach kids with special needs, and in his spare time he would train rigorously for the Iron Man. His training paid off when he qualified for the Kona Ironman. Gradyan will be competing alongside 2,000 other athletes, and his goal is to finish the race with his support system of friends and family. His family and friends have also set up a GoFundMe account to help fund Gradyan’s journey to Kona. To donate, you can visit: http://www.gofundme.com/cxxcno
