The Company Reports Highest Attendance in Recorded History

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 04, 2014

U.S. Antique Shows reported today a three percent increase in overall attendance for the New York Antique Jewelry & Watch Show. The four-day event, which was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion on July 25-28, also achieved the highest attendance in recorded history on both Sun. July 27 and Mon. July 28.

“We’re thrilled that the New York Antique Jewelry & Watch Show was a huge success! The show floor was filled with serious buyers and many of the clientele were new, first time attendees to the show,” says Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows general manager. “Our dealers have shared with us that many of their best pieces sold at excellent prices.”

For a seventh year, the New York Antique Jewelry & Watch Show hosted 120 booths showcasing a wide array of antique jewelry and watches representing all eras of jewelry history. In addition, highly sought after collections from elegant global brands such as Cartier, Tiffany & Co., David Webb, Harry Winston, Patek Philippe and more populated the aisles. The ratio of buyers to dealers was 24:1 at all times on the show floor.

Many of the show’s dealers commented on the amazing turnout this year.

“I didn't stop the whole first day. It was fantastic, unbelievable!” says Dealer Hartley Brown. Lenore Dailey seconds that remark, saying, “I've seen all new customers. I’m very pleased.”

The dealers also discussed the types of pieces they’ve seen peak their customers’ interests.

Windsor Jewelry’s Hugo Foutermann says, “There has been a renewed interest in estate jewelry [at this year’s show]. The American market seems to be getting stronger and stronger.”

“Both private sellers and dealers have been looking for signed, important pieces and this New York show is the place to find them,” said Gus Davis of Camilla Dietz Bergeron, Ltd.

U.S. Antique Shows now produces nine shows nationally. The next scheduled is the Miami Antique Jewelry & Watch Show, Nov. 7-9, 2014 at the Miami Airport Convention Center (a new location for 2014).
