Hotel rates can skyrocket in summer. Fortunately, Casino Boy knows about cheap hotels in Las Vegas to make a Vegas vacation affordable.
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) June 11, 2013
Las Vegas hotels and attractions are always expanding. Unfortunately, many cheapos wallets are shrinking. However, Casino Boy still found a few affordable spots left in Sin City. Here are some cheap places to stay in Las Vegas this summer.
The Quad
The Quad Las Vegas is one of the better cheap hotels on the strip. Formerly known as The Imperial Palace, The Quad has undergone some major renovations in recent years. Management clearly thinks the renovations are pretty stellar because The Quad now charges a resort fee. This is the place for guests who want to experience all of the parties and attractions on The Strip without breaking the bank. Also, the Quad plays host to a classic car showroom and the Hash House A Go Go, one of the best places for breakfast in Las Vegas.
Ellis Island Casino and Brewery
Ellis Island is a Las Vegas budget hotel with character. Located slightly off the strip, Ellis Island is the spot for savvy locals and budget conscious tourists. There’s no noise from the party scene, but it’s not too far from the Strip. Locals come to play and eat but tourists stay for the cheap motel rooms at the attached Super 8. The rooms are nothing fancy, but this joint is the largest super 8 in the world and there’s complimentary wi-fi so patrons won’t feel cramped. The real draw here is the food, the steak specials and micro brews are some of the best deals in town. The casino is a bit run down, but the minimums are much lower than the resorts. Speaking of resorts, Ellis Island is also a good bet because there aren't any pesky hidden resort fees.
El Cortez
El Cortez hotel in Downtown Las Vegas is a cheapo paradise. The Spanish style hotel was built in 1941 and is a testament to the old glamour of Las Vegas. El Cortez, the longest continually operating hotel-casino in Las Vegas recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places this year. El Cortez is conveniently located next to the lively Fremont Experience. The “vintage” rooms are cheap, but charming. The crowd at this place is a mix of seasoned gamblers, families and budget conscious youngsters. There is no pool, but there is a Flame steakhouse is located inside the hotel and there are plenty of nickel machines. The less nostalgic crowd can choose to stay at the more modern Cabana Suites across the street.
Casino Royale
Casino Royale is an affordable hotel on the Strip. Best Bonus—The Best Western at Casino Royale is the only casino hotel on the Vegas strip that doesn't charge a resort fee. Gamblers come for the craps and cheapos come for the $1 beer. This place is a solid value, but don’t expect to be in the lap of luxury. However, Casino Royale rooms were recently upgraded and there’s wi-fi and cable along with a basic pool and fitness room. Save cash for the casino and eat on site at Denny’s or at a food court that includes $1.99 foot-long hot dogs.
Slots of Fun
Right next to Circus Circus, Slots-A-Fun Casino is a popular casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Owned by MGM Resorts International, Slots-A-Fun is independently managed so non-millennials will appreciate a Las Vegas casino on the Strip that isn't attached to a mega resort. This casino also has darts, pool. arcade games and daily drink specials. It’s a dive for sure, but with cheap food and good service. No fancy types here. Some loyal fans were disappointed with the re-model, but Ariel Abbott, Editor of CheapoVegas.com says Slots-of-Fun is still worth the trip for cheap gaming and looser slots.
