Record Numbers of SCAI Attendees Visit the ACE Booth at SCAI 2014
Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 12, 2014
The Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE) received acclaim during the 2014 Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) Scientific Sessions and Cath Lab Bootcamp in Las Vegas, NV, May 28-31, 2014.
SCAI’s inaugural Cath Lab Leadership Boot Camp was a unique two-day educational event designed to address the needs of cath lab managers and directors and those who aspire to those roles. “All cath labs should be ACE accredited PERIOD...cannot be said enough," stated J. Jeffrey Marshall, MD, FACC, FSCAI, Past President of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and Director, Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia. Gregory Dehmer, MD, FACC, FACP, FAHA, FSCAI and current Board Chair of ACE added, “If you are struggling with your cath lab quality program…who should you call? ACE.”
To further serve the cardiac cath lab community, the ACE Board of Directors just approved a new and updated set of Performance Metrics for Cath PCI Accreditation. These metrics have been published and were released at the SCAI conference. They are available for download on the ACE website (http://www.cvexcel.org). Thirty-six performance metrics in PCI, Diagnostic Cath, STEMI/NSTEMI and Medicare Hospital Compare Outcomes were updated to align with the NCDR CathPCI Registry, NCDR ACTION Registry and Hospital Compare data.
About Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE)
ACE, an independent organization sponsored by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), offers independent evaluation and monitoring of facilities that provide cardiovascular care. By reviewing facility and operator performance and comparing clinical decision-making to nationally accepted best practices; ACE quality review and accreditation services play a critical role in continuous quality improvement programs.
