The armed man and woman who opened fired at a Las Vegas pizzeria and a Walmart killing three before fatally shooting themselves were reportedly kicked off Cliven Bundy’s ranch.
The married couple's neighbor, 22-year-old Brandon Monroe, said they were “weird people.”
Monroe said he thought they used methamphetamine. He claims he didn't see the female as often as the male suspect. He said the man would ramble about conspiracy theories and appeared to be “militant.” Authories found the couple was in possession of white supremacist paraphernalia.
The man told Monroe he had been kicked off Cliven Bundy’s ranch 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.
Bundy’s wife, Carol Bundy, told the Review Journal that the standoff on her ranch against federal authorities and the Las Vegas shooting aren’t linked.
“I have not seen or heard anything from the militia and others who have came to our ranch that would, in any way, make me think they had an intent to kill or harm anyone,” Carol Bundy said.
No motive for the attack has been determined.
Officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, were shot and killed while eating lunch at CiCi’s Pizza at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, according to Sheriff Doug Gillespie.
“It’s a tragic day,” Gillespie said. “We have lost two officers with young families.”
Witnesses told investigators that one of the shooters yelled, “This is the start of a revolution!” before shooting police.
They left the pizza parlor and headed to a Walmart across the street, where they shot and killed a woman.
The female shooter then shot and killed the male suspect before taking her own life.
Gillespie said, "we will have a community to police, and well still have a community to protect. We will be out there doing it with our heads held high, but with an emptiness in our hearts."
