New products create excitement and keep the industry moving forward. They’re also one of the biggest reasons attendees come to the National Hardware Show—to see hundreds of new products, all under one roof.
Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) April 05, 2014
Whether you’re an attendee looking for new products or an exhibitor or inventor who wants to show off your own new products or submit them for review and feedback, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to do just that at The National Hardware Show®, which will be held May 6-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).
New products create excitement and keep the industry moving forward. They’re also one of the biggest reasons attendees come to the National Hardware Show—to see hundreds of new products, all under one roof.
“I go to the National Hardware Show to see new products and get fresh merchandising ideas for our stores,” says T.J. Comstock, owner of Northwest Hardware in Billings, Mont. “I like to look for new items and items I think will be the next big trends for consumers.”
Finding "The Next Big Thing"
This year, show organizers have made it easier than ever to explore new products. InventionHome, an invention and product marketing company, will be working with DAP, TTI and Lefttime Brands to host “pitch tanks” for inventors and entrepreneurs at the show. InventionHome will also sponsor Inventor’s Spotlight, an area where attendees can see the potential “next big thing”—whether it be a product or service—in the home improvement industry.
Want to be a part of the action? DAP is currently seeking products in the following categories:· Residential Caulks and Sealants,
· Foam Sealants, Caulks & Sealants Applicators & Tools,
· Residential Patch & Repair Products and Accessories, Construction Adhesives,
· Household Adhesives,
· Window, Door & Siding Installation Products,
· Residential Painting Accessories,
· Lawn and Garden Products,
· Related Packaging Innovations
· And other innovative products inventors think fit the DAP brand.
Any inventors who want to submit an idea to the DAP pitch tank can visit http://www.submitmyinvention.com/submit/DAP_hardware for more information on how to do so. Warren Tuttle, president of United Inventors Association, will entertain pitches for the TTI and Lifetime Brands pitch tanks.
Inventors and entrepreneurs can submit their ideas to the website listed above, and some will be selected to pitch directly to a selected group of DAP’s staff, which will be involved with the judging.
“There have been several instances where we’ve engaged with inventors and entrepreneurs at the National Hardware Show and then worked with them to bring products to the market,” says Heather Sarkissian, corporate innovation manager for DAP. “We know we have a great brand, and it’s all about bringing great ideas to DIYers and pros. Sometimes those great ideas come from outside our walls, and that’s a good thing. DAP is always interested in new product innovation, and we’re big proponents of looking outside our doors to find entrepreneurs with the latest and greatest products.”
Toolbox Challenge
Canadian Tire will also be offering a Toolbox Challenge, an event where it will search for the most innovative products and ideas at this year’s show. Canadian Tire has sought out submissions in the following categories: Heavy Mechanic Tools, Mechanic Hand Tools, Portable Power Tools, Tool Accessories, Tool Storage, Carpentry Tools, Stationary Tools, General Hardware, Electrical, Plumbing, Paint, Stain & Accessories and Surface Prep & Repair.
Successful candidates who submitted their products have the chance for those products to be selected as part of a Canadian Tire executive panel presentation and the opportunity to sell products through its chain of stores. Canadian Tire has more than 490 stores and revenue of more than $11.4 billion, so, needless to say, it’s the chance of a lifetime.
“As Canada’s Hardware Store, Canadian Tire is always looking for the latest and most innovative products to add to our product offering,” said Michael Robert, business development manager, fixing division. “Not only does the Tool Box Challenge provide us with a unique format to view some of the most-cutting edge products from the world of hardware and paint, but the ‘pitch to panel’ structure encourages creativity and brings with it inspiring demonstrations that bring products to life. We can’t wait to see what participants bring to the table this year.”
The DIY Network
The DIY Network will also be shooting an episode of its hit show, “I Want That,” at the National Hardware Show. “I Want That” features the latest and greatest in hardware products, and during its coverage at the show, it will showcase the most innovative products to hit the market.
“The National Hardware Show offers us a great opportunity—it’s where we can both meet with our existing clients as well as reach out to new clients, all in one place,” says Andrew Eisner, director of custom programming sales with the DIY Network.
The DIY Network will also be sponsoring the New Product World, where attendees can see even more new products and trends to join the home improvement industry. Scott Brun, vice president of programming, alternative platforms, for the DIY Network will be judging all products in the New Product World.
“The new products I see at this show are truly remarkable,” says Brun. “The innovative tools and systems on display within the New Product World are exactly what we at DIY Network look to offer our viewers in everything we produce."
