(PRWEB) April 05, 2014

Robert “Scratch” Mitchell will be the featured presenter in an hour-long session as part of the Creative Masters Series in this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas. The session, entitled “A Fighter Pilot’s Take on Reality TV: Managing Goals, People and Risk in High Stakes Environments” will offer tips on how production teams can increase efficiency by applying a pilot’s approach to time, team and project management.

Mitchell, a veteran RCAF F-18 and Snowbird demonstration pilot and current Patriots Jet Team pilot, has management experience both as a commanding officer and as a reality-show producer. He has served on production teams for Discovery Channel’s “Highway Thru Hell” and Discovery Canada’s upcoming reality series “AIRSHOW”. The session will include high-speed, action-packed footage from these shows.

“Producing a reality-show is similar in many ways to piloting a multi-million dollar jet,” says Mitchell. “Both require precise timing, team management and often involve finding your way through high-risk situations. I’m thrilled to share some practical techniques that I’ve learned during my years serving in multiple leadership roles with this year’s NAB Show participants.”

“Scratch” Mitchell’s session will be held Monday April 7th from 3-4 p.m. in the South Hall Meeting Room S220. Attendees will also learn about NAB Show’s public service initiative for 2014, “Got Your Six,” a collective impact campaign to bridge the civilian-military divide and ensure that veterans are seen as leaders and civic assets. The campaign unites the entertainment industry with top nonprofit organizations and the federal government to change the conversation in America around veterans and military families.

Mitchell will also be available before and after the session at the Patriots Jet Team and Exact Market Exhibit, which will feature an authentic MiG fighter jet. Visitors will be able to sit inside the MiG, take photos with team members and learn about exciting marketing and team sponsorship opportunities. The exhibit will be located outside in the Silver Lot at #SV1003.
