This team-up is surprising, given that Trent Reznor has a history of dissing Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell. Nine Inch Nails released The Downward Spiral and Soundgarden released Superunknown on March 8, 1994. So this is the 20th anniversary of both albums.
Last year, Reznor revived NIN for an album (Hesitation Marks) and lots of touring. Soundgarden will release a 20th anniversary reissue of Superunknown on June 3. In 2010, the band reunited after over a decade. Since then, they've toured, released various reissues, and put out a new album, 2012's King Animal.
